Orion Music Workshop (Orion)

Independent child of the new European hybrid music, Orion Music Workshop has been Tom Val's solo project for nearly five years now. His music seems to wander through a maze of distorting mirrors, avoiding the trap of categorization: folk? industrial? jazz? Out of time, like watching a dreamachine turn upside down in a megalithic enclosure. Ancient evocations of the flute, detuned synthesizers, pantraditional rituals, fragile improvisations. The filiation with the French experimental musicians of the 70s and 80s (DDAA, Pascal Comelade, Vox Populi come to mind) is never far away, and neither is that with their unclassifiable contemporaries (here and there, we think of Nina Harker, Radiante Pourpre, la Fureur De Vouivre...), a stage set in the bizarre and DIY Hexagon.

Shelter

Shelter is the alias of Alan Briand, Paris-based musician, DJ and artist. Above all, he releases records, more than fifteen since 2016, on the labels Growing Bin, International Feel, Séance Centre, Antinote, Emotional Response, and Les Disques Omnison as well as on his own label Protopost. Shelter plays electronic music tinged with Indian influences, krautrock, ambient and English dub. He operates in an assumed psychedelia, outside of time, where the instruments are symbolic, the chords distended, the improvisation is synthesized.

HWYUIOD

After Shelter & Orion's first collaboration Here's where you understand it's only dreaming, Thomas Riguelle (who played guitar on La Lunga Strada Di Sabbia (Di Giornio)) definitely joined the trio. It became HWYUIOD, followed by a few dates in Paris, London and more. Their debut album "The Window" was released on Les Disques Omnison & Protopost in 2025.

Tone Vitmn C

Lotte Van Dyck (modular synthesizer) and Tom Val (flute, percussions, various electronic effects) coined the Tone Vitmn C duo in Summer 2023 after meeting at a poetry event in Paris. They joined their forces in psychedelic electronic jams, with krautrock and techno influences, as well as a common fascination for german philosophy & CCRU. Their first tape Fetisch Charakter was released in a few copies available at their first gig in late 2023, soon followed by the Ideologiekritik LP on Les Disques Omnison.

Turner Williams Jr.

Turner Williams Jr. is an American artist and musician living in Marseille. He plays the shahi baaja, an amplified typewriter zither that uses metal keys to alter the pitches of its strings. Like Williams, this instrument is an electrified transcultural mutation of the 20th century. His autodidactic practice & technique emerge from a stubborn practice of automatism, accident & listening. His music refracts the shahi baaja’s hybrid nature through a delirious, personal process that is as scattered as it is syncretic. His second LP Ensoleillée was released on Les Disques Omnison, as well as the volcanic Krakatoa with Shelter & Orion in 2025.

Céleste Gatier & Leandro Barzabal

Céleste Gatier and Leandro Barzabal are two figures on the experimental, improvised and noisy Parisian scene, noted for the performative dimension of their respective approaches. Their duo plays on the fragility of electroacoustic devices, between creation and destruction, silence and explosion. The meeting of polarities generates an electric arc, unstable and intense - a disruptive air field, like when lightning strikes the atmosphere. Their debut album Meditate & Destroy was released in 2024 on Les Disques Omnison.

Los Pélieu Lovers

Rouen, 2024. Under the influence of reading aloud some poems by french beat poet Claude Pélieu while music was playing in the room, and despite finding much tributes to his work online, Los Pélieu Lovers decided to do a record in praise of him. Rather than a usual music & poetry reading, that could have been an obvious choice, the trio decided to apply Pélieu’s techniques and style into the form of an album. Automatic writing, cut-up, degradation, collages… You can see where it goes. Result is completely freeform, landscape is changing everytime. Bird singings below a detuned piano, destroyed voice loops, flutes comes in and out, bait and switch… As every single Tom Val’s project rule : expect the unexpected. What could go wrong ?

Lutèce 162

The duo band of Tom Val and Background (Haxo, Ritaline Tsouko). Experimental explorations influenced as much by bass music than shoegaze and krautrock. Their debut LP is planned for the end of the year on Les Disques Omnison & Syrinx Music.
